Where the last mile begins.

Many smallholder farmers never hear about the programmes meant to serve them. The Foundation works at the farmer's gate: helping families recognise disease, act early, and reach the vaccination and advice they are entitled to.

Why

Goats and sheep are a family's savings account.

For smallholder households — very often women — small ruminants are cash for school fees, food and emergencies. One outbreak of PPR can wipe that out in a week. Knowing the signs, and who to call, changes the outcome.

Recognise

Tell viral, bacterial and parasitic disease apart — and when to call for help.

Deworm right

Correct product, dose and timing instead of guesswork.

Report early

Recognise and report PPR and FMD so outbreaks are stopped early.

Stop the antibiotic reflex

Fewer unnecessary antibiotics; safer meat and milk.

Our pilot

One fully measured LGA before anything else.

We start in Misau LGA, Bauchi State, with door-to-door registration, farmer training and verified vaccination — and we publish what we find.

  • Every household registered with consent, GPS and a household code
  • Training on the four behaviours, measured before and after
  • Vaccination and treatment verified by the farmer
  • Findings shared openly with partners and government

We will report four numbers

01

Cost per household reached

02

Behaviour change before vs after

03

Vaccination coverage %

04

Data-integrity rate
